Old Me, New Me… Running, Yoga, Hiking and Bicycling with Scoliosis.

I am new to this arena and hope this keeps me motivated. I have read a few blogs and found them enlightening and hope to do the same for others. I am an almost 46 year old women with four great kids and two beautiful grand kids that I don’t get to see as much as I’d like due to distance.  I found that I am at the point in my life that I need to get fit and live a better life.

I want to run, dare I say jog. I never new jogging was a dirty word… 🙂 Guess I am stuck in the 80’s. I just bought some new running shoes and hope to put some miles on them. Since I am in Hawaii, there’s not much in regards to weather to stop me… Darn, can’t use that as an excuse…

I’ve also purchased a road bike, a Trek 7.2. It’s a starter bike and am going to put some miles on it as well.

I have taken a few yoga classes in the past an enjoyed it very much, but as you can see, I have a serve case of scoliosis and have to be careful of some of the poses, at least thats what I have been told, but I think my body will tell me when its gone as far as it needs to.

I am 5’2 and weight 130 lbs. The medical charts save am in a healthy range, I believe it and I am not out to be skinny, just healthy.

I am hoping by sharing my thoughts on this new journey will keep me going. My journey starts tomorrow morning, wish me luck.
