I almost made another excuse. I forgot to change into my workout clothes before I left the office yesterday. I am active duty and have to wear a heavy uniform and big boots. I already had brought in another uniform, so I only needed to bring in my boots, a belt and my cap. So, I said, the heck with it I have to get started. I filled up my back pack and headed out this morning to work on my bike. It’s literally 2 miles from my drive way to the parking lot of my building. My pack was heavier than I thought it was going to be. I have my lunch, water and a few extras. With my crazy back, it was rather uncomfortable but so worth it. I felt great. It was still dark out and cool. The ride is all down hill. My fear of going up the hill for 2 miles frighten me. Sounds crazy but I am not in the best of shape, smoked for years and need to lose about 15 pounds or so. I haven’t been on a bike in years and the only ones I ever rode had 1 gear. My rear end was a little sore on the ride home but not so bad that I don’t wanna do it again. It was rather warm out and the sun was beautiful. I pumped up the hills with thighs burning. Very proud of myself. Rode 4 miles and I am going to ride some more tomorrow. Looking into joining a group when I feel comfortable riding.
I purchased 3 jersey’s from eBay and a couple pair of shorts with some cushion. Crossing my fingers that these shorts help my cheeks.
